Ostend strengthens its role as a congress city
Ostend is preparing for the next step in its development as a congress city. Kursaal Ostend is currently undergoing extensive renovation and will reopen in early 2027 as a state-of-the-art convention centre.
The iconic concert hall will feature an innovative modular floor system and a capacity of more than 3,000 delegates, making it the largest modular venue in Belgium. The Lounge has also been fully redesigned into a stylish, multifunctional space with a unique sea view. As a result, the Kursaal will be more versatile than ever, suitable for everything from small meetings to large international congresses.
Ostend’s congress offering is also highly diverse and perfectly complementary. De Grote Post is a beautiful heritage venue hosting seminars and conferences for up to 400 participants, while the ACEG Wellington Hippodrome is ideal for exhibitions, dinners and gala events. Together, these venues form a strong and flexible portfolio for all types of events.
In terms of hospitality, Ostend has made a significant quality leap in recent years. With more than 2,000 rooms in three- and four-star hotels and a strong increase in listings in the Gault&Millau guide, the city also proves its growing culinary appeal.
Finally, Ostend always offers a sense of relaxation. The sea, the beach and the city’s open atmosphere make it an ideal place to unwind during a congress or to organise a team-building activity. Ostend offers a diverse and coherent setting where both small-scale team buildings and large seminars or congresses can be organised with ease. Meet in Ostend is happy to support you in organising your next event.
